BEBAR (Mathias Mendez, born 1993 in Vitry-sur-Seine) is a French street artist. He started out very young with graffiti, drawn to urban culture and to drawing.
He went on to train at the Arts Décoratifs in Paris and then at the Parsons School of Design in New York, broadening a practice that sits between urban art and contemporary art.
His work mixes the figurative and the abstract, with strong colours and forms in movement, often inspired by cartoons and hip-hop culture.
Today he paints murals in France and abroad — Paris, New York, Montreal — and also exhibits in galleries.
