What is VANGART?

VANGART is a French studio specializing in embroidered artworks, founded in Lyon in 2019. We collaborate with contemporary artists, galleries, and publishers to produce textile artworks and limited editions for collectors worldwide.

What is your expertise?

Our expertise lies in translating artworks into textile pieces with a true material presence. Unlike printing, embroidery offers relief, texture, depth, and plays with light.

Why collect a VANGART edition?

Our editions are produced in strictly limited runs, developed with the artists themselves, manufactured in France, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. They bridge the gap between unique artworks and contemporary editions.

Why choose an embroidered piece over a print?

A print reproduces an image. An embroidered work builds it stitch by stitch, layer by layer, creating a physical presence, a texture, and an interplay with light that traditional printing cannot achieve.

Where are the works made?

All works are designed and produced in our workshop located in Lyon, France.

Do the artists participate in the creation of the editions?

Yes. Each project is developed in close collaboration with the artist, respecting their intentions while exploring the possibilities of contemporary embroidery. The artist validates the final work.

Are the artworks signed and numbered?

Yes. The artworks are signed and numbered directly by the artist, on the back of the piece.

What is a limited edition?

A limited edition corresponds to a specific number of works produced. Once the edition is sold out, no further copies are made.

Do you provide a certificate of authenticity?

Yes. Each artwork comes with a certificate of authenticity.

What materials do you use?

Each project involves dedicated research. We work with cotton, velvet, linen, technical fabrics, and materials chosen for their quality, durability, and ability to faithfully reproduce the original artwork.

How are the works made?

Each project goes through several stages: artistic direction, research and development, prototyping, production, sewing, assembly, stretching on a frame, framing, certification, and packaging.

How many stitches does a piece contain?

That depends on the project. On average, we estimate around 400,000 points, but this number can easily double depending on the format and complexity of the image.

Are the artworks framed?

Some artworks are offered framed. Framing options are indicated on each product page.

Are the artworks protected by glass?

All our textile works are displayed without glass, to preserve their tactile dimension and material presence.

When will my order ship?

The estimated delivery time is indicated on each product page. As some artworks are made to order, the lead time may vary depending on the production stage.

What is the average production time?

Our production and shipping times are generally between 3 and 6 weeks.

Do you deliver internationally?

Yes. We ship our artwork worldwide.

How are the artworks packaged?

Each artwork is packaged in custom-made packaging, designed for international shipping and protection of the artworks.

Is my work insured during transit?

Yes. All shipments are secure and insured according to the value of the artwork.

What if my artwork arrives damaged?

Contact us upon receipt, with photographs of the package and the artwork. We will determine the best solution: repair, replacement, or refund, as appropriate.

Can I modify or cancel my order?

A request for a change or cancellation may be considered within hours of the order. Once the work has entered production, some changes may no longer be possible.

Can I return a piece of art?

Artworks may be returned in accordance with applicable law. Commissioned or customized artworks may be excluded from the right of withdrawal.

Can I resell my artwork?

Yes. The artwork is entirely yours. However, the copyright remains the property of the artist.

Does buying a work give me copyright?

No. The acquisition of a work does not transfer the rights of reproduction or exploitation of the work.
