Founded in Lyon in 2019, VANGART is a textile design studio specializing in embroidered artworks.
We collaborate with artists, galleries, and publishers to produce textile artworks and limited editions that extend the experience of an image through material. Our approach is based on a simple belief: embroidery is not a reproduction process, but a medium in its own right. Through the relief, texture, and play of light it creates, it transforms the artwork and gives it a unique physical presence.
Each project begins with a close dialogue with the artist. Together, we explore the possibilities offered by thread, materials, and embroidery techniques to develop an interpretation that is true to the original intent, while revealing new visual and sensory dimensions.
Our workshop is a place of research and experimentation. We develop our own production methods and pay particular attention to material selection, execution quality, and the durability of the artworks. Every production stage takes place in our Lyon workshop, without subcontracting.
Over the years, VANGART has collaborated with emerging and established artists, as well as with galleries, cultural institutions, and international publishers. Our artworks have been produced for partners such as Almine Rech and Louis Buhl & Co. and are now featured in private collections worldwide.
In 2025, our expertise was recognized by the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV) label, an acknowledgment of French artisanal and industrial excellence.
Each edition is produced in limited print runs, signed and numbered, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. At the crossroads of contemporary art, textile, and traditional crafts, we create artworks made to last and to be collected.
