Dr Brent Estabrook, born in 1985 in the United States, is known for combining technical precision with a free, playful energy.
Before becoming a full-time artist, he studied both fine art and dentistry. During his dental studies he began developing his own artistic style, notably through his Skulls series, informed by his medical training. An early major sale led him to devote himself entirely to art.
His Perpetual Recess series, launched in 2015, brought him wider recognition. It depicts piles of soft toys painted in thick layers of textured oil paint, giving the surfaces a soft, tactile quality.
That series led directly to his Fur Faces series, more expressive and full of character.
His work has been shown at the Long Beach Museum of Art, at Art Basel Miami, and during a residency at the Maddox Gallery in Gstaad in 2024. He lives and works in Los Angeles.
